However, in 1999 the leader of the Taliban, the Islamic fundamentalist movement that was then in control of most of Afghanistan declared the statues and grottoes idolatrous and un-Islamic. Taliban militants proceeded to destroy the grottoes and smaller statues, and in March 2001, they used artillery and explosives to demolish the Great Buddha and another large statue nearby. This is the best evidence showing that they are not respect the other religious at all. Please be aware of those peoples who demonstrating, and destroying the others belongings angrily because of the merely cartoon not the historic huge valuable statues of the most ancient religious. Do they have sympathy, respect, love, or compassion? “
