Volunteers Of Many Faiths Gather To Help Rebuild Sikh Interfaith

On Saturday afternoon, local volunteers gathered for the first of many
weekends at Gobind Sadan, the Sikh Interfaith Center in Palermo, to join the
Gobind Sadan community in rebuilding the main house of worship.

Orthodox
leader blesses green agenda

From a most unlikely quarter, the global environmental movement has gained
a new leader, one with hundreds of millions of potential followers. Last
month, Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I, the spiritual leader of the
world's 250 million Orthodox Christians, led fellow clerics in blessing the
Baltic Sea from the deck of a cruise ship.

tolerance for faith in politics

Americans have moved a long way from the time when religion and politics
were the two hot topics to avoid at all costs in conversation. Today, some
100 million Americans discuss political issues with friends and family in a
given week, and 90 million say they bring up spiritual or religious matters,
says the Barna Research Group.


Voices for Peace: Speakers tell of religions' efforts in the Holy
Land

Forgiveness may be the only, and most difficult, path to peace in the
Middle East, according to three leaders of different religions from Israel.
The three clergy members are touring the United States to speak about local
efforts within and between their religious communities to spur on the peace
process.
